Christmas in Brisbane

Christmas in Brisbane is the annual Christmas program across The City curated by BEDA in partnership with a range of precinct stakeholders. The curated program provides a series of unique and vibrant events, activating the precinct for both visitors and locals to enjoy throughout the festive season. Christmas in Brisbane aims to position The City as the first-choice destination for Christmas to drive increased visitation, spend and support local business.

Key highlights of the Christmas in Brisbane program include:

  • Lord Mayor’s Lighting of the Christmas Tree
  • City Hall Lights
  • Christmas on Queen
  • Christmas Tiny Doors
  • Kids workshops

Each year, Christmas in Brisbane is supported through a fully integrated marketing campaign targeting key audiences across Brisbane, the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast to drive awareness of the program, attendance to events and deliver increased spend and visitation to the precinct. Christmas in Brisbane is a hero feature on the Visit Brisbane website with high-impact media placements across out of home, YouTube, display, META, search, owned channels, as well as content partnerships with local media publications driving awareness and engagement. In addition, Christmas in Brisbane signage is installed across banner flags on key road networks into The City, as well as signage throughout the precinct, with a focus on Queen Street Mall.

The Christmas in Brisbane visual identity was launched in 2024 integrating traditional Christmas elements with a modern twist. The brand celebrates the uniqueness of a Brisbane Christmas – festive and playful, summery and hot. The Christmas in Brisbane brand celebrates these unique summer aspects by combining Brisbane-centric illustrated characters with classic Christmas motifs. A joyful brand for a festive time.
