Brisbane has a packed lineup of major sporting, cultural and entertainment events set to energise the city, support local jobs, and strengthen its $13.7 billion visitor economy.

Brisbane Economic Development Agency (BEDA) leads the city’s Major Events Strategy, working closely with partners across government and industry to support, attract and leverage major events that deliver economic benefits to the city by:

• Attracting out of region visitors to Brisbane, including intrastate, domestic, and international.
• Contributing to the local economy, including engaging with local businesses and creating jobs.
• Global promotion - reinforcing Brisbane’s status as Australia’s lifestyle capital and number one sporting city.
• Positively engaging Brisbane residents to generate social and community impact.
