From show-stopping entertainment and world-class hotels to gourmet catering and seamless transport services, Brisbane Pop-Up connected hundreds of event organisers with local suppliers at the region’s premier business events tradeshow this week.
Now in its 18th year, Brisbane Economic Development Agency’s (BEDA) flagship showcase brought 300 business event organisers together with more than 70 venues, hotels and suppliers under one roof at Sofitel Brisbane Central.
Brisbane’s business events sector is a major driver of the city’s economy, forecast to inject more than $125 million into the economy in 2025. Brisbane Pop-Up helps power that growth by fostering collaboration and spotlighting the local businesses behind unforgettable delegate experiences.
Guests previewed new additions to the city’s business events scene, including The Summit Restaurant and Bar, atop Mount Coot-Tha, while sampling menu highlights from the Queensland Art Gallery and Gallery of Modern Art.
Attendees were also treated to a high-energy DJ Sax performance and live entertainment by Velvet Rope Entertainment, alongside immersive activations and photo opportunities curated by Architects of Vibe.
Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner said Brisbane Pop-Up played a key role in showcasing all Brisbane has to offer.
“Brisbane’s growing global reputation as Australia’s lifestyle capital and a hub for innovative business events is driving huge growth across our visitor economy,” Cr Schrinner said.
“Our diverse industries and proven expertise, from health and medical technology to science and agriculture, make Brisbane a top choice for business event organisers from around the world.
“Brisbane combines exceptional conference venues, premium hotels, award-winning dining, unique tourism experiences and vibrant outdoor precincts to create the perfect backdrop for memorable business events and world-class international conferences.”
BEDA Chief Executive Officer Anthony Ryan said this year’s Brisbane Pop-Up set a new benchmark for showcasing the city’s depth of talent and capability in the business events space.
“It’s an occasion where Brisbane’s venues, hotels, and event suppliers come together under one roof, demonstrating the creativity, professionalism, and hospitality for which our city is known,” Mr Ryan said.
“BEDA understands the importance of collaboration, this year partnering with the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre and other city partners, to confirm 95 new business events and incentives for the years ahead, representing more than $125 million in economic impact for our city.
“With momentum building, Brisbane is primed to deliver more memorable experiences for delegates, from cutting-edge venues to uniquely local experiences and outstanding places to stay.”
