Connection powers Brisbane's business events success

20 JULY 2026

Brisbane’s business events industry is reaching new heights in 2026, earning a place among the world’s top 50 cities* for international conferences and events.

Capitalising on this momentum, the city’s flagship business events showcase, Brisbane Pop-Up, returns for its 19th year on Thursday, 3 September at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre (BCEC), connecting over 75 of Brisbane’s leading venues, hotels, experiences and event suppliers with event and conference organisers.

Delivered by Brisbane Economic Development Agency (BEDA), the annual showcase celebrates the power of connection - uniting buyers and suppliers to forge new partnerships and experience the best of Brisbane’s business events offering under one roof.

Registrations are now open for the free networking and trade opportunity, which is expected to attract hundreds of Brisbane business events professionals.

Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner said Brisbane Pop-Up gave event planners the chance to experience firsthand why Brisbane is becoming one of the world's leading business events destinations.

"Brisbane Pop-Up gives event planners a real taste of what makes our city special,” Cr Schrinner said.

"They'll meet the people behind our world-class events industry, experience our outstanding venues and see why Brisbane continues to attract major conferences from around the world.

"Every new event brings more visitors, more investment and more opportunities for local businesses.

“It’s just another way we’re building Brisbane's reputation as Australia's lifestyle capital."

BEDA Chief Executive Officer Anthony Ryan said every connection made has the potential to attract more conferences, more delegates and more investment to Brisbane.

"Brisbane Pop-Up brings together Brisbane's leading venues, hotels, suppliers and experiences under one roof, making it easy for event planners to connect with the right people and discover everything our city has to offer," Mr Ryan said.

“With BEDA securing 64 events for the city last year, there's never been a better time to connect with us and experience Brisbane's thriving business events offering firsthand."

Business events play an integral role in supporting Brisbane’s visitor economy, which was worth $17.8 billion last year. Conference and convention delegates stay in Brisbane’s hotels, enjoy the city’s lifestyle precincts and restaurants and soak up retail and tourism experiences across the city.
