Brisbane’s biggest dining event returns to heat up the city this Winter

26 MAY 2023

Dine BNE City is back for a third year with its biggest program of exciting offers and events ever, encouraging locals and visitors to discover some of Brisbane city’s best restaurants and bars.

Starting next week, the popular celebration of the city’s culinary scene sees 70 venues in the heart of Brisbane cooking up more than 110 exclusive deals from 1 – 30 June.

Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner said the line-up of delicious deals from some of Brisbane’s best restaurants and bars would keep the momentum going following a massive May.

“Brisbane is the most small-business friendly destination in Australia and we’re determined to make it even better,” Cr Schrinner said.

“Program like Dine BNE City support our restaurants, cafes and bars which are a critical part of Brisbane’s economy and create thousands of jobs.”

Joining the Dine BNE program for the first time is Amalfi Coast-inspired newcomer Settimo, with Founder and celebrity chef, Guy Grossi, citing Brisbane’s diverse culinary culture as an exciting destination to open his first Queensland restaurant.

“Brisbane’s hospitality scene is exciting and thriving and we are thrilled to be part of the rich tapestry,” Mr Grossi said.

“We developed a new dining concept in partnership with The Westin Brisbane and I am thrilled to bring my vision for Settimo to life.”

Cr Schrinner said May had been a bumper month of major events, injecting more than $70 million into Brisbane’s economy.

“This month the city recorded its highest CBD foot traffic for the year, and we’re keen to keep that momentum going with Dine BNE City by offering great deals, from lunch specials to seasonal set menus, to entice foodies throughout June,” he said.

“With plenty of great offers for every taste and budget, Brisbane’s restaurants and bars will be filled with foodie fans supporting our local hospitality sector this winter.

“We know locals love to support homegrown businesses, so make a date with family and friends for an affordable city lunch or decadent five-course degustation to discover the best of Brisbane’s dining in the city this June.”

Dine BNE City was initially established during COVID to support the CBD’s struggling hospitality scene, providing a boost to the local businesses that have continued to serve us during those tough years.

Since then, an array of new venues have opened, sparking a restaurant revival in the CBD and making this year’s program a special celebration of our thriving dining scene and famous alfresco lifestyle.

The table is set for a month-long banquet of foodie experiences for every taste and budget, from low-cost city lunches to five-course banquets and decadent degustations.

This year’s program dishes up specially curated programs with the return of Let’s Do Lunch, Supper Club and Bar Safari.

Dine BNE City will host a smorgasbord of exclusive ticketed events, including FIRESIDE: Food & Wine at the St Stephen’s Cathedral grounds on 1 June to kickstart the program.
