From finger lime “caviar” popping on plates to celebration cakes produced for some of Australia’s biggest brands, Brisbane’s food and beverage manufacturers are setting their sights on Southeast Asia.
Ten established producers have been selected for the Future Food Initiative’s 2026 Global Export Accelerator, backing local innovators to scale into international markets at Food & Hospitality Asia 2026 in Singapore this April.
Delivered by Brisbane Economic Development Agency in partnership with Export Connect, the accelerator prepares and connects export-ready manufacturers with global buyers, distributors and investors to support international growth.
Brisbane’s advanced manufacturing sector is forecast to grow by 29 per cent over the next decade, reinforcing the city’s rising manufacturing capability.
Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner said food and beverage was a key player in Brisbane’s extraordinary growth.
“Brisbane is redefining the food and beverage sector, from manufacturing all the way to front of house,” Cr Schrinner said.
“We’re proud to back local businesses as they share locally grown produce and big ideas with markets across the globe.
“Through programs like the Future Food Initiative, we can help Brisbane businesses serve up the next big thing and keep customers coming back for more.”
Joining the accelerator is Brisbane-based The Lime Caviar Company, a trusted partner with Australia’s finest chefs and the world’s premier producer of finger lime “caviar”, already supplying markets including Singapore and Malaysia while setting its sights on broader growth across Asia.
CEO Matthew Caines said the program would support the company’s next phase of expansion, targeting key markets such as Japan, Taiwan and Hong Kong as demand for premium Australian ingredients continues to rise.
“We’ve taken finger lime caviar from a niche product to international markets, and the opportunity across Asia is significant,” Mr Caines said.
“Food & Hospitality Asia is where global buyers come looking for what’s next. This program helps ensure we’re in the right place, at the right time and with the right partners.”
